The Open Virtual Machine Tools (open-vm-tools) project is an open source implementation of VMware Tools. It is a suite of virtualization utilities and drivers to improve the functionality, user experience and administration of VMware virtual machines. This package contains only the core user-space programs and libraries.

Installation of latest VGAuthService command is available for Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine, Arch, Kali, CentOS and Fedora. You can copy the command for your OS from above and paste it into your terminal. Once you run the command it will download the 2023 latest package from the repository and install it in your computer/server.
