Notify about available software updates

This small utility which regularly checks for software updates and notifies the user about available updates using desktop notifications and either a status notifier icon or a system tray icon. It is primarily intended for desktops which do not already have this functionality built-in, such as Xfce.

Installing package-update-indicator command is simple. just copy one of the above commands for your operating system and paste it into terminal. This command is available for Debian, Ubuntu and Kali operating systems. Once you run the command it will install the latest version of package-update-indicator 2026 package in your OS.
