How to use losetup?

Below are few example commands for losetup that you can use in the terminal.

List loop devices with detailed info:
losetup -aClick to copy
Attach a file to a given loop device:
sudo losetup /dev/loop /path/to/fileClick to copy
Detach all loop devices:
sudo losetup -DClick to copy
Detach a given loop device:
sudo losetup -d /dev/loopClick to copy
To install the latest version of losetup in your favorite operating system just copy the losetup installation command from above and paste it into terminal. It will download and install the latest version of losetup 2024 package in your OS.
