sfinfo and sfconvert toolsThe audiofile library allows the processing of audio data to and from audio files of many common formats (currently AIFF, AIFF-C, WAVE, NeXT/Sun, BICS, and raw data). This package contains the sfinfo and sfconvert tools.
audiofile
The Audio File library is an implementation of the Audio FileLibrary from SGI, which provides an API for accessing audio file formats like AIFF/AIFF-C, WAVE, and NeXT/Sun .snd/.au files. This library is used by the EsounD daemon. Install audiofile if you are installing EsounD or you need an API for any of the sound file formats it can handle.
Installation of latest sfinfo command is available for Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, Kali, Fedora, Raspbian and macOS. You can copy the command for your OS from above and paste it into your terminal. Once you run the command it will download the 2026 latest package from the repository and install it in your computer/server.
