Command-line operators to analyze netCDF filesNCO is a suite of programs known as operators. The operators are stand-alone, command-line programs executable in a POSIX shell. Operators take one or more netCDF files as input, perform operations (e.g., averaging, hyperslabbing), and produce a netCDF output file. NCO was originally designed to manipulate and analyze climate data, though it works on any netCDF format datasets.
Installing ncap2 command is simple. just copy one of the above commands for your operating system and paste it into terminal. This command is available for Debian, Ubuntu, Kali, Fedora, Raspbian and macOS operating systems. Once you run the command it will install the latest version of ncap2 2026 package in your OS.
