This package contains common files shared by the distinct flavours of GRUB. It is shared between GRUB Legacy and GRUB 2, although a number of files specific to GRUB 2 are here as long as they do not break GRUB Legacy.

capable of booting into most free operating systems - Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, GNU Mach, and others as well as most commercial operating systems.

Install the latest version of grub-mkrescue in Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine, Arch, Kali, CentOS and Raspbian from terminal. To install the grub-mkrescue just copy the above command for your OS and run into terminal. After you run the command it will grab the latest version of grub-mkrescue from the respository and install it in your computer/server.
